Hi there! My name is Matías (I like to be called Mati), I hold a BSc in Economics from the National Autonomous University of Mexico (UNAM). Previously (September 2024-March 2025) I was an exchange student at the Humboldt-Universität zu Berlin. I also spent a semester (January-June 2024) studying proof based mathematics at UNAM’s Faculty of Sciences.

My research interests are: multidimensional poverty, inequality, development economics and heterodox economics.

I’m interested in pursuing a PhD in economics after my masters. Currently I'm studying the EPOG-JM (MSc in Economics + APE), from September 2025 to September 2027. At Roma Tre University, Sorbonne University, Université de technologie de Compiègne and Université Sorbonne Paris Nord, as an Erasmus Mundus Scholar.
